Engine 9, Ladder 4, Rescue 9, Deleware Street, Albany, NY

While driving through the state capital, I snapped this photograph of one of the more beautiful and interesting fire houses that I have seen. Before publishing, I telephoned the Albany Fire Department to confirm which fire house I had seen. Searching the government website produced this information:

"Engine Nine This ornate structure was built in 1912 at Delaware Avenue and Marshall Street. This building received some remodeling in the late 30's. However, these quarters were extensively remodeled in 1991. This structure is the quarters of Engine 9, Rescue 9, and Ladder 4. "
